Screen Sunset
This page has one job: to help you stop looking at pages. Yes, I’m aware of the irony.
Press Begin and watch the sun go down. Your screen will warm, then dim, then go dark. When it does, put it away.
Tap anywhere, or press Escape, to leave at any time.
How it helps
Screens rarely give you a natural stopping point. There’s always one more thing. A sunset is the oldest stopping point there is.
-
Watch it go down
Let the light change slowly. There’s nothing to scroll, tap or read.
-
Wind down with it
A few gentle prompts along the way: your breathing, your shoulders, what comes next.
-
Put it away
When the screen is dark, turn it face down, close the lid, or leave it in another room.
Bright screens late in the evening can make it harder to wind down, and endless feeds are built to keep you going. A deliberate ending, a small ritual that says “that’s enough for now”, makes it easier to stop.
Your phone may also have its own evening settings, such as a warmer night-time display and a “wind down” or bedtime mode. They pair nicely with this.
